S&P 500 hits file excessive on beneficial properties in tech-related shares
(Reuters) – The benchmark S&P 500 hit a file excessive on Thursday, helped by beneficial properties in tech-related shares, a day after the Federal Reserve reiterated its pledge to maintain rates of interest low till the financial restoration is safer.
The Dow Jones Industrial Common rose 23.6 factors, or 0.07%, on the open to 33,469.89. The S&P 500 rose 10.0 factors, or 0.25%, on the open to 4,089.95, whereas the Nasdaq Composite rose 108.0 factors, or 0.79%, to 13,796.892 on the opening bell.
